Architecture, urban and landscape design, regional planning are major preoccupation and achievements of the State of Israel which celebrates this year 1998 its 50th Anniversary.  Cultural exchanges between the Netherlands and Israel have been strong for years, yet, very little is known about architectural output in the Netherlands. To become better acquainted with the Israeli architectural production of this 50 years period, a one day conference took place in the Department of Architecture at the University of Technology Delft. Organizer is the Chair of Architectural Theory, Design Knowledge Systems in collaboration with Bezalel Academy. Leading historians and practitioners of architecture from Israel presented key projects and historical and regional background within which the architecture of the last fifty years evolved.

The event was under the auspices of the Embassy of Israel in the Netherlands
